privacy
last updated october 4, 2026
ok so is built for small, private groups of friends. we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, and there are no ads.
what we collect
- account: when you sign in with Apple we receive a user ID and, if you choose to share it, your email (which may be an Apple private relay address).
- profile: the name you choose and, optionally, a profile photo.
- groups: the groups you create or join, and invite codes you create.
- voice clips: the clips you record and send (up to 10 seconds each), and which clips you've listened to.
- taps: the quick buzzes you send and receive.
- device token: a push notification token so we can tell you when friends send something.
who can see it
your name, photo, clips and taps are visible only to people in groups you belong to. invite codes let new people join a group, so only share them with people you trust.
where it's stored
data is stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States. clips and photos are kept in private storage that requires a signed-in group member to access. your sign-in session is stored in your iPhone's Keychain.
microphone
ok so uses the microphone only while you hold the record button.
deleting your data
you can delete your account at any time in ok so → settings → delete account. this permanently deletes your account, profile, group memberships, clips, taps and device tokens. leaving a group removes you from it.
children
ok so is not intended for children under 13.
